Does anyone know if the revised 962 chassis will work on the older 962 IMSA bodies? Will this alleviate the need for any shims under the motor and align the pinion and crown better? Will this new chassis allow the body to be removed via the o-rings instead of screws? Are there any other reasons why someone would want to purchase a newer BRM version over the older ones, such as better bushings, wheels or anything?
Shawn – are you planning on purchasing the Taka-Q Toyota and/or the Southeast Toyota dealers Toyota?
Yes, the 962 chassis fits all BRM Porsche 962 bodies regardless of version, they don’t require the shim, they have the new o-ring design to easily remove the body, and they have the newer harder axels and brass bushings.
As for the BRM Toyotas….. yes I’ll most likely be getting both.
