Mandatory tire rule change:
All,
As long as nobody has a problem with it, I will change the mandatory tires for this seires from the Slot.it F30 (SIPT28) to BRM Shore 25/30 GT tires (S-104).
Let me know before April 10th if you are against this change.
Ary.

I am good with it as long as Kings will have plenty in stock for everyone to purchase.

I agree with Marty provided we can get them. In what way are they better

What are the required rear tires for this series. Ary’s change and the published rules do not match.
Thanks

Bob, at this time we don’t have a spec tire for this series. The BRM tires didn’t work and the F30’s are too narrow.
Slot.it’s new F18 tire is about to hit the shelves and I’m just waiting on that to make a decision.

What tires are everyone running for building/testing/tuning?
-
April 25, 2013 at 4:24 PM #1895AutoramaKeymaster
I think only me and Steve started testing our Porsches. My last run was trying the BRM tires; I think Steve has Slot.it F30 installed.

I am also running BRM 30’s

All,
we will use BRM shore 25/30 tires for this series (S-104).

After learning today that we have to run the stock anglewinder set up I need to prep a new car for this series. I don’t have time to paint and decal a car in time for the series so I was going to run a stock Slot It livery. I know Ary, Brian, and Stephen are running their custom liverys but I want to know what everyone else is running. I am trying to not run the same livery as someone else but may not have a choice. Let me know what you are running so I can prepare accordingly.

I think Roy and Brett are both running Jevers

I will be running the Warsteiner livery for the series in case anyone else was planning on running one.
What gearing is everyone using? Is that asking too much? Is everyone’s gearing a secret?

I think we can count on some dupes except for those who have time to build a custom livery, since there are only two off the shelf choices.

oye I am running literally everything stock including gearing. [sarcasm] Yes that is way too much to ask. I actually paint all my gears one color so you have to count the number of teeth.[/sarcasm]

I’m with the stock pinion (?) but I went to a 27T spur; motor-pod is locked – absolutely no play.
I will be gluing and re-truing the tires soon … it seems to help quite a bit.

The rules say “Tires may be not be glued.” What does this mean? We can or can’t glue the tires?

Well… it means that somebody (me), forgot to erase a couple of words. It now reads “Tires may be glued”.

Ary,
Thanks for the clarification. I appreciate you putting the rules together. Any suggested glue you would recomend?

Like Steve said: super glue.
I use a very thin bead around the edge, on each side of the tire – like it is done on RC tires, just a lot less glue.

I am assuming you are truing the tires before you apply the glue?
