Pendles is selling a Reynard 2KQ – 3 Car Club Special (SLPL00106, SLPL00107 & SLPL00108) for ₤100; shipped to USA that would cost around $165.
That is a pretty good deal, the only thing to change would be tires.

The other option is to go with some Slot It GT40’s in different colors. They are fun to drive and look great. They might be easier to re-sell as everyone already has a ton of Slot It parts. Just a thought.

I like that you will run this time. I could prep the cars and you could run. I have already prepared mine and would love to do these.

I don’t think we need to remove however is preparing the cars from competition. If we use the Sloting Plus cars, there’s little to do, we may not even need to change the tires, in the end everyone will race the same setup.

Regarding the Sloting Plus orange (red?) car: We can use a green dye instead of paint — that would help keep the weight down.

Got a few things I would like feedback on:
1st – Now that we know El Piloto was one of the top choices for series in 2012, I would like to propose running them throughout the year – that would be one race per month on a off-Saturday.
2nd – I would like to know from the participants if you would prefer to run the Sloting Plus Reynard 2KQ (1/32 scale) or the new BRM Megane (1/24 scale).
— to run the BRM Megane we would need to rund at least 12 races due to the cost of the cars.
Let me know.
Here is the Sloting Plus Reynard:
Here is the BRM Megane:
We would be buying white kits on the Megane – U$ 130 a pop.

Ary,
Is the 100GBP club price for the Sloting Plus Reynard package with or without VAT?
If I had my druthers, I’d prefer to run the BRM Megane. Is the BRM Porsche/Toyota series off for Q4? I was thinking we could run it with the Modern F1 series, or better yet, end the modern F1 now, and run El Piloto and BRMs on the alternate Saturday. I have 3 busted up F1 cars that vote for ending modern F1 now, and calling the series complete.

Jim,
BRMs are done for this year, competition-wise; we can always run an informal race.
The Sloting Plus cars would cost U$165 shipped last time I checked (that was removing VAT but paying shipping costs). Each white kit Megane is listed for U$130 at Alan’s store — but there not yet available.
Regarding F1: I don’t even want to talk about changing schedule for this year … but I will race whatever the majority wants.

As Austin Powers says “Yea Baby!” Lets do it. Megane’s would be great to run. From what I read it sounds like they are narrower than the Porsches. Could make for some great racing! I would prefer to run these over the Sloting Plus cars but would enjoy either.
F1 – How many more races do we have?

We will be racing BRM Meganes on two series of six months – one race per month on off-Saturdays. I will be contacting Alan Smith to check when those will be available for purchase.

We are missing the El Piloto races on the calendar for Q1, should we race it the same day as the club meeting?

Ary,
Thanks for all the work in preparing the El Piloto BRM Meganes. The race today was great and everyone had a good time especially with such close racing. I can’t wait until the next race.
