The first round of the Formula GP Series did not disappoint. Despite concerns regarding the durability of the All Slot Car open wheel cars, the race saw fewer crashes than predicted and none of those resulted in a retirement.
The mandatory NSR Supergrip tires worked really well; fastest laps for Group A hovered the 3.8 seconds mark with a few 3.7 seconds laps to boot, Group B racers were constantly turning 4.0 seconds laps. As this is the first race of the series, cars are still being worked on, but I believe it is just a matter of time before Group B racers are able to take full advantage of their rear track flexibility and have a matching or stronger setup than group A.
