Race #4 of what seems to be the most popular series for our club: 1/24 BRM cars. BRM makes slot car replicas of the Porsche 962C and Toyota 88C, both great cars to race.
This race was the first of many to start at 11am in an effort to dodge the Texas heat — it did help. The field was composed of Porsches only; seven of them, both factory and custom liveries.
All the heats saw a lot of fast laps and close racing. The middle lane (blue) still proves to be the hardest on the driver: as the outer/inner lanes cars turn, they fishtail and whoever is on the blue lane need not only to be out of their way when that happens but they also need to wait for the perfect time to make a pass.
At a moment of distraction, after an interruption, Brian followed the wrong car and ended-up crashing his own. The crash shifted the rear bushings and locked the axle. This took him out of contention for a podium on what certainly was a solid run.
