The final stage of the 1970-73 Targa Florio featured cooler track temps, a light turnout, and some very quick competition. Everyone was turning in fast laps as Autumn teased us with some cool, damp weather. I think we owe this to Mark L who installed an additional air conditioner just in time to chase the heat away. But this is False Fall, the heat will be back.
David C, with his orange NSR Lola turned in the fastest time with 255 seconds for 40 laps. Dave broke the 6 second lap barrier with a fast lap of 5.967 seconds. Next up was Marc T. with a 257.6 total time for 40 laps, and a fast lap of 6.074seconds. Coming in third was Mark L with a 266 total time and 6.35 second fast lap. Rounding out the field: Marty M with 266.6/6.06, John B with 269.4/6.2, and Randy A with 275.1/6.5.
Final results for the series are David C in first, Marty M in second, Marc T. in third, Mark L in fourth, John B in fifth, and Randy A in sixth.
A big thank you to all who participated. I was a lot of fun.
