Targa Florio ’65-’69 Stage 6 & Final Series Results

The final run of the 2025 Targa Florio series saw some fast times, a new member, and Kim’s return to the fray.  We were missing some racers who have been consistently on the podium, so final results for the series may hold some surprises.  It was warmish at the track; the peak summer heat was thankfully past as we wound up for the year. The stage was run in a clockwise direction for only the second time in the series.

Lots of constant, fast laps turned in by everyone.  Marty was plagued by a guide that insisted on hanging up on the crossover with his Thunderslot Lola. He would have been second or first were it not for this glitch., as it was, he still earned a spot on the podium.  David C., also running a Thunderslot Lola was having only a slightly audible click on that section of track.  Dave blasted ahead with the best time of the day, and the fast lap, coming in first. Marc T. made it into the second spot with a Policar Ferrari 330p, and a conservative driving approach.

John B came on smooth and strong Making a good showing with his slot.it GT40.  Another GT40, run by Randy A also turned in some smooth consistent driving.  Mark L made his racing debut with a borrowed car, an NSR GT40, and it was interesting to see him getting the hang of track, controller, and car as we made his way through the 40 laps. Kim was plagued by guide problems as well.  Too shallow a guide in this case.  A deeper guide would have shaved many seconds off the time.

So, the 2025 Targa is now one for the books.  Thanks to everyone for participating and helping out!
