Group B Rally Series – Race 5
November 23 bright some welcome cooler weather for our fifth outing with the Group B rally series. A coin toss determined the race would be run in a clockwise direction, climbing the long hill, and snaking our way down eases towards switchbacks, past the Villa, and onto the straight again.
We had seven racers participating, without any major track issues. David with his Scaleauto Porsche 959 had the best time by a wide margin with a time of 278.6 seconds for 40 laps. Mel and his Scaleauto MG Metro took second place with 287.1 seconds, with Marc nipping at his heels for third with a 287.2 second time running an Avant Slot Opel Manta.
In fourth was Brian H and his Ninco Lancia with a 315.0 time, followed by Randy A running an Avant Slot Nissan 240RSwith 326.3 seconds for the forty laps. John B next with an Avant Slot Renault Alpine A310. Kim, with her second outing ever on the rally track turning in a 381.6 second time running another Avant Slot Nissan 240RS.
