I see no reason to actually do this.  Ninco and Scalextric have both done this to little benefit.

I’d like to see us do a proxy touring car as at least 3 of us have these cars in the SCITCC proxy.

Why would the hubs be fuzzed out?

Sometimes simple is better. A double thickness of the cellophane that pars comes in slipped over the end of the axle works great.

The person chairing the meeting has the perogative to establish the ground rules for the meeting. The meeting could(and should) be designated as a non-alcoholic event. There’s always times atferwards to drink. Alcohol does have it’s time and place, but a serious business discussion is neither, IMHO. Personally, I don’t see why anyone couldn’t do without a drink for a couple of hours, but that’s just me. If this is a situation that you know is going to be a problem, then the idea of going to a resturant probably wasn’t a good one. I was just thinking out loud about available venues.

Depending on the number of expected meeting participants, several of the local resturants have rooms available that can be reserved for small groups. Given the lateness of the hour, it may be hard to reserve a place, but it’s worth checking into. Usually there is no fee for the room, with the expectation that the guests purchase food and no one should have a problem with that. When on the BOD of the Austin Rifle Club, we used Marie Callendars. The board is current using IHOP on 183., so there are plaes available. Is the annual meeting held away from Kings so that you don’t have the distraction of the public roaming in and out?

I may be speaking out of place here since I am not yet a member, however, the only thing holding that up is I do not know who to give my application and check to. That will be resolved soon, so having said that…

It appears that the Annual meeting has been on the club calendar for some time. I think that it’s safe to assume that those who are planning to attend have already made necessary arrangements to attend, possibly rescheduling personal activities. If the conflict is between a meeting and a race, I think that anything that is going to determine the operation of the club for the next year takes priority over a race, A race can always be rescheduled and any Saturday could be a double or even a triple race day if necessary. I think it’s important to have as many people possible attend the annual meeting and that trying to reschedule that, possibly causing people to have to reshuffle plans would be detrimental to the purpose of the event.

It was a lucky pick on the color. It was the pre-mix green that was on the shelf.

Finished the painting today. It was raining outside and I had to do it in the kitchen. Darling wife was not a very happy camper. I still need to reinstall the hinges and the locks, but I was anxious to get a pic of it posted. I also need a luggage handle for it and I can’t find one anywhere in Austin. If anyone knows where I might get one it would really be appreciated.

Back in my catamaran racing days, there were three fleets, A, B, and . C Fleet was pretty much the new people, B were the more experienced, and A was the “Elite. You started in C and worked your way up. The requirement was that after placeing first or second a given number of times, you wer required to move up and race against the better sailors. I doubt there would be enough racers for three tiers, but two might work using that system,

Here it is finished. The small pieces in front of it are small pieces of aluminum cut from some flat stock I had laying around. I used those to cover as much area as possible on the chassis, trying to keep down the number of holes I was going to have to drill and tap.

Is there a way to run a series with a handicap system.  The computer starts the rookie so many seconds before the next lowest handicap and so on.  The first race in the series everyone is even and then you handicap based on prior pervomance. Might be fun watching the pro’s coming back from behind and trying to catch up and the rookie gets to lead some laps.

Possibly, but another plate can be fabricated for around $8.50 worth of aluminum, and that might be the way to go. It’s no big deal to drill and tap it. For now, I’m assuming that all of the slot.it chassis are the same or at least few enough in number so as to not cause an issue.

I made some mistakes but was able to cover up most of them. Learned a few tricks along the way, so the next ones will be much easier and much quicker to build. Onward to the doors and a paint job..
