Guys,
The “steward” (me) has just finished a detailed review of the previously reported Round 1 stats and confirmed that a bug in the software has caused the fastest laps to be reported incorrectly. Scoring was done properly in the RMS, (the fastest lap was awarded to the correct driver) but reported incorrectly by me because I used the Statistics display to compute them by hand.
I have reported the bug to the author of the software who has confirmed it and promised a fix. The following link will take you to the bug report if you are interested: https://pclapcounter.winnerbb.net/t800-fastest-lap-issue-when-running-heats#3528
Here is a short explanation of the issue: When running in the race configuration that we have selected (we don’t complete laps at the end of a heat) the software is supposed to ignore the lap time of the first lap of the driver’s next heat when evaluating fastest laps. The reason for this is that when the power is cut to the track at the end of a heat and timing is paused, our cars keep coasting. Based on our average lap times we were averaging distances traveled from 10.4 to 15.66 inches per 1/10th of a second. If a racer is lucky enough to have the power cut on one of the straights where they are at or near full speed they could easily travel enough distance to trim over 2/10’s of a second off their lap time.
I have not adjusted the scoring in the RMS, as it is correct. I have simply posted the report from the RMS in place of the original file. I have also updated the summary files because they contained incorrect fastest laps for many of us.
My most sincere apology for making this error.
Brian
