Guys,
I am good with running both a Slot It and BRM Regional. I e-mailed Alan this past weekend and from his response it sounded like two drunks racing on a two lane Carrera set in someones garage can qualify as a regional as long as it has been promoted on his forum and all BRM’s use only BRM parts. My e-mail and his response are below.
Dear Alan,
Here are the questions I have from your response to my posting on the 2011 BRM Nationals.
1. I know there are rules for the BRM cars but is there a Regional race format that you want all of the races to be run to? You can run any Format you want but must run using the Scaleracing rules for the Brands represented.
2. When it comes to promoting the event what are we allowed to post on the forum? You should post all information on the SCI Forum, no linking to other Sites.
a. Link on the forum to a webpage with information about the event. No the SCI Site is where all Promotion of the Events must take place, the purpose is to show the World we are racing BRM, Scaleauto, Avant Slot and other Brands. SCI gets over 120,000 unique visitors a Month so it is a great place to promote the Events and build interest.
b. Link to our club’s website showing pictures of the track and pre-event practice information. I prefer to have all images Hosted on SCI as this Site will never delete or edit images so no red X will ever appear. If you host and write up the Event on SCI I will allow a link to your Site at the bottom of the Report.
3. Do you already have a schedule of the other regional races? I want to make sure we do not overlap with any race. There is no concern regarding conflict of Events the more the better, however if you announce your date I would encourage others close to you to choose a different date if they wish to hold a Regional as well.
4. If we hold a Regional how many people from that regional will automatically be qualified to attend the national? That depends on how many Regional’s are held, but anyone wishing to attend the National Finals will be given the chance to qualify for the Main Event.
5. Will those that do not win our Regional still be able to go to Nationals and enter a qualifying event? Yes.
6. What other requirements, if any, do you have for our club to put on a regional? The requirements are that you hold the Event using the Scaleracing rules for the Brands mentioned, and that everything is hosted and promoted on SCI, Pre Race announcements, schedule, and Race Report must be hosted on https://www.slotcarillustrated.com. This is critical as it shows everyone what is happening and Builds interest in this form of racing. SCI is the place for Scaleracing.
Cheers
Alan
