BRM Challenge – Round 1 Results

This race starts the first of the BRM regionals hosted by ASCC.  Many weren’t able to make the first race so we only had 1 marshal at any given time.  Fortunately, we have a working track call button to allow racers to get their cars if they deslotted where there wasn’t a marshal.  The main issue with this is that is kept upseting people’s rhythm during the race.  Ary once again showed how good his car tuning abilities have become by posting the most number of laps as well as the fastest lap of the race.  Jim was very consistent for the most part.  Roy, still dealing with the car damage from the BRM endurance last weekend, was having issues coming to grips with the new chassis and setup.  Shawn was on his way to a fairly decent finish until the set screw on the crown gear backed off and the car stopped moving.  He was able to get the car going again but lost the better part of the heat to that issue.

It was a great race and everyone was very “gentlemanly” in their driving with the bigger cars.  It’s going to be a great series to see everyone come to grips with the larger cars and gear ratios.
