Slot.It small can motor has 23.000 rpm with 170gcm torque @12v. This Slot.It V12/4 motor (SIMX16) has been included in Slot.it cars starting May 2016.
The previous motor (SIMX06) was rated at 21,5000rpm. According to Slot.it the MX06 had some versions (ed. unmarked) capable of producing 23,000rpm. (ed. these had a redish-orange color bell, and an audibly noticeable higher pitch)
A few years ago the Slot.it factory changed the metal case of the orange endbell motor, from one with rounded edges, to a newer shape with Squared edges. This unintentionally increased the RPM from 21,500rpm to 23,000rpm, but the motor specification was never officially upgraded in the catalogs or website.
The biggest difference for most racers is the endbell, which is now a single piece in order to hold the brushes more firmly and hopefully have a more stable production across batches. As far as performance is concerned, the V12/4 MX16 motor is expected to be similar to the old V12/3 (dark-orange) units rated at 21,5000rpm, but having the 23,000 rpm capability.
