NSR Abarth 500 Series – Round 3

The third round of the NSR Abarth 500 Series had nine racers present to contest the round.

The round would follow the script from the first two rounds with David setting the pace that no one could get close to. David finished with a time of 4’ 39.057” which was 21.3” ahead of the second-place competitor. Marty’s race followed the previous two rounds with a mechanical that effectively took him out of the running.

John once again had a great drive finishing second with a time of 5’ 0.036”. Marc had a great run to finish in third place down only 1.76” to John’s second-place time. Steve was in fourth place down 2.320” on Marc in third. It was great to see these three competitors battle so hard for podium spots in this round. The difference between the second place and fourth place was only 4”. This is the type of close racing everyone expects in a spec series. It will be fun to watch these three racers in the next three rounds.

Randy, Mark, and Russell had good runs that were similar in time to their previous rounds with no one picking up or losing any places in the overall standings.

This round also saw the club’s newest member, Tanner, running his first round in the series and only his second time running on the club’s rally track. Well done Tanner.

The fourth round of the series will be on August 20th and it will be interesting to see if David can keep up his amazing pace while the next three racers battle it out for the next two podium spots while the rest of the club work to chase them down.

I can’t wait to see what happens!
