Racing BRM's at Magnatech in SA

I really would like to see those car on a large track. If everyone is in agreement, we could contact Jim at Magnatech and check the possibility of running a BRM race at his track.
Jim's track has 8 lanes; we have 7 guys running BRR and we could invite Rick from Houston to complete the field.

Let me know.

I am all for it. Lets come up with a date and make the road trip. We could include a trip up the road (10 miles) to the go kart track!

If I can still fit inside a go-kart .....

We need to have a large participation in order for this race to work -- we need marshals as well.

How many people are you thinking? How many marshals? How many of us racing at the same time? Maybe we could run 4 at a time so we have some marshals.

We could try to run 4 at a time, we would probably have to generate our own round robin table and keep the scores by "hand" -- I have used their software before and I'm pretty sure it does not have a round robin option. With 8 guys; four racing at a time 5 min heats with 2 min between each heat, the entire race will take 2:00 hours; if go for 10 min heats that climbs to 3:20 hours.

We would probably have to rent the entire track for 3 hours on a Sunday.

BTW, we probably need 3 marshals at all times.

I contacted Magnatech a few days ago. Basically the large track is occupied every Sundat starting at 3pm, they only open at 11 on Sundays. On Saturdays, their races start at 7pm which means that there will be people practicing during the afternoon.

In order to get that track we really need to check the club members desire to do this.
