Round 3 had seven drivers on a mid 80s Saturday. The road course was clean and ready to go. Steve came by to retrieve some computer equipment and stayed to run the button. Kim was also back with a new Jordan.
Brian brought his new prototype digital ride height tester. It measures to 1/10 if a millimeter and works really well. Several cars were tested before tech, mine reading 1.3 mm. While there were intentions to tech with it, but in my hurry to get things done, it was not used. If Brian will bring it next week, it will be used for sure.
Group A saw David driving his orange Jagermeister took first by slim .19 of a lap running 226.91 laps and a best time of 3.638 to Marc Tyler’s blue Leyton House in second with 226.72 laps and a 3.691. John took 3rd with his Jordan 7Up running 225.1 laps and a best 3.731. Brian ran 4th in his very sharp Benetton running 216.3 and best of 3.832. Marc has shown great improvement this year and has become a real contender. Group A was not without mishaps as one crash took all three cars out.
Group B had the Randy’s silver Mobil car take the win running 206.7 laps and a best lap of 4.006 seconds. Mark Lyon’s Ferrari ran strong to take second with 205.35 and a best lap of 4.138. Kim followed in 3rd with her new green Jordan 7Up turning 182.82 and 4.287 best.
The racing was very competitive and Mark Lyon’s A/C was very beneficial in cooling the clubhouse. Don’t miss Round 4 and the annual meeting next week.
