A few years back I proposed a Econo-Supercar series - basically the light and good looking supercars offered by Scalextric (and other brands). That got poo-pooed for some strange reason and replaced by a Carrera series requiring 3D chassis and other costly upgrades.
SO I recently experimented with my cars and with very little tuning, they were turning regular 4.1s. Does anyone want to have a Thurs night "fun" series racing cars that we normally would Not run a series with ... similar to the run-what-ya-brung idea Erick had 2 years back.
Examples:
-- Modern Ford GT (LeMans livery) Carrera with one magnet, zero-grip fronts, urethane rear tires, and a spare Slot,IT 21.5k orange-bell motor. Looks great and is fast enough for fun.
-- Scalextric, High Impact Audi, with one magnet, zero grips fronts, P6/C1 rear tires, Stock motor but taller NSR plastic Pinion. Also hits 4.1s with ease.
