Everybody seems to be pretty good with Group C slot.it. What about an endurance race?
Two members teams, 2 to 3 hours of racing, any repair work needs to be done under green, 15min heats?
Let me know.

I’m in. 2 man team using the same car. Would you set minimum lap times to make it more about consistency?

I’m in for this, but our fridge is nowhere big enough to “fuel” a race of this duration with beer and sodas 😀 .

I am so up for this! Lets pick a date and put it on the calendar. We could maybe do it the weekend before LeMans.

Sound’s like a plan to me. I like the Leman’s association.

Setting a minimum lap time helps to allow slower cars to be competitive with the faster cars. Let’s say that the minimum lap time is 4.1s. Any lap time that is faster doesn’t count. Not sure if our timing system can do that but I’m hoping it can. It then makes it more about being consistent than just all out fast. Just like a real endurance race.

Guys,
This weekend will be tough for me as I have my dad’s brother in town from Minnesota. I plan on being at the track on Saturday but I can’t commit to any large amount of time right now. Things subject to change without notice.

Shawn,
I don’t understand why you would not count and lap under 4.1 seconds. We are racing right? If you can run faster than the others shouldn’t you be allowed to do so? I think this is more apart of putting the correct teams together. It would not be fair to have Ary and you on a team against the others. We could use the results from the first round of the slot it challenge to pair teams. What does everyone else think?

Endurance isn’t about all out speed. Meh… it was just an idea……

A couple of things:
1) Technically speaking: the software supports minimum lap times. We are currently set to something like 3.8 seconds. (IIRC)
2) I might be more inclined to take the average times from the El Piloto series for pairing, only because it minimizes the variable of the car. Ary is the only one without official times, but I’m sure we can quickly establish some. We might also consider a qualifying run…

Anyone up for running a two hour Trans Am endurance race? That way the two hours would actually feel like 24 hours. Just kidding of course.

Well it’s only the Pioneer cars that have the problems. 😆
